I was one of the many people from Southern California who attended this year’s Sunset Music Festival, and it's held right in the heart were rock and roll got its first start in Hollywood. On the Sunset strip. This years festival was a lot of fun, and I’ve been going every year so far since it started. What I really like it about this festival is how they shout down Sunset blvd, and put up two big stages on either side of the strip. You're also allowed to go in and out of all the clubs, and you can see a lot of different bands perform through out the day like Bad Religion, Marilyn Manson, and I was even surprised how good the Offspring sounded. De La Soul was another great act and not to mention the fifity other bands that played. What made me decide go to this year’s SSMF was to see Zakk Wylde and his band Black Label Society. Since I'm a fan of his guitar playing, they’re for sure one of my favorites to see at this event. Zakk played a amazing guitar solo for almost ten minutes, or longer, he pretty much went to war with his guitar. He belted out a bunch of fast ripping scales as a metal viking would. Even though the weather was a little of the hot side for Los Angeles, that didn’t stop the large croweds people from going to this event. Which I think it was the largest turnout yet, but if anything, it just pushed the artist to put on a better show. You should try and come next year, and see it for yourself…
